Hatch sealings

Door and hatch gaskets is used among others in the maritime sector, for sealing of watertight hatches in ships and cargo rooms.
Hatch seals are characterized by a common core of sponge rubber, with a hard, abrasion-resistant solid rubber on the outside. Similarly, the beveled edges on one side, which makes them not get caught in the door or hatch openings. These hatch seals last for many years, and are produced with special requirements for tolerance. Therefore, they are also significantly more expensive than normal sponge rubber.
These hatch seals you will find on most commercial vessels and large tank and container ships.
